While the Daytona watches of the iconic Reference 6263 with exotic Paul Newman dials often take the spotlight in the press and sell for astronomical prices at auctions, the “Big Red” is another variant that is frequently sought after by Vintage Rolex collectors. The Reference 6263 “Big Red” gets its name from the bright red “DAYTONA” lettering, which appears prominently in the center of the dial above the sub-dial at 6 o’clock.
